As an associate professor, she garnered awards for her teaching, research, and service. Woeste has published in various journals and her research interests include leadership, curricular innovations, and women in science and technology.

Dr Brannum received her Ph. Brannum's research focus is on conflict resolution and human security. Her recent projects have included a study of the relationship between fear, in security and political power in two different contexts.
